Deep-seated expectations set by society and traditional gender roles can impact men’s ability to talk about their health struggles, especially leg-vein health. Men are often taught to prioritise self-reliance, emotional control, avoiding dependence, and physical toughness as essential traits of being a man in Western society. This presents a challenge for promoting men’s health and well-being.1
Poor leg vein circulation is one health issue that people often think only affects women. Whilst women are more prone to leg vein issues, men can also suffer from this condition.2
A family history of varicose veins
Obesity
Smoking and tobacco use
Sitting or standing for long periods
Being over the age of 50
Not getting enough physical activity2
Given that men can also suffer from poor leg-vein circulation, Venavine® aims to break the stigma and encourage men to share their experiences and start caring for their leg health. Venavine® spoke to Frans, aged 60, now retired, who opened up about suffering from poor leg-vein circulation and multiple varicose veins in his lower legs.
Venavine®: How long have you suffered from poor leg circulation?
Frans: It started when I was in the army, but then I had a motor vehicle accident, and that is when my circulation got much worse. I now have many swollen varicose veins on my lower legs.
Venavine®: What symptoms do you experience?
Frans: I get an achy burning sensation in my lower legs where the varicose veins are. My legs also swell a lot in this area and feel heavy.
Venavine®: Does anyone in your family suffer from varicose veins?
Frans: No
Venavine®: Have you previously had to sit or stand for long periods for your job?
Frans: Yes, I worked as a fleet controller, where I would sit the whole day for my job.
Venavine®: What have you done so far to ease your symptoms?
Frans: I lie down and raise my legs. I also tried a rub-on for circulation, but it didn’t make much difference.
Venavine® thanked Frans for opening up about his poor vein circulation and encouraged him to try Venavine® products to get relief for his poor vein circulation symptoms, which he agreed to.
Venavine® caught up with Frans 2 weeks* after starting to use Venavine® Capsules and Venavine® Intensive Cream.
Venavine®: How have you found Venavine® so far?
Frans: Venavine® has helped me tremendously. My legs and veins are much less swollen, and I have less aching pain. My legs feel much better thanks to Venavine®.
It was great news to hear that Frans experienced better leg comfort from using Venavine® products, and he plans to continue doing so. If you are a guy suffering from poor leg vein circulation, know that you’re not alone and that Venavine® is here to help you.
Venavine® Capsules improve circulation, providing multi-action relief from heavy, tired, achy, and swollen legs. Venavine® Intensive Cream offers an on-the-spot cooling, relaxing effect.
*Two (2) to three (3) weeks of uninterrupted treatment may be required before beneficial effects are observed. Long-term use is possible in consultation with a doctor.
