We all admit to times when days go buy before we take some time out for ourselves. We’re often so busy helping others and getting ‘must do’ things done, that ‘me time’ ends up on the back burner.
Either we don’t think of adding ‘me time’ to our to do lists and if we do, it’s probably right at the very end of the list. What’s more, when we do think of doing something for ourselves, there’s that nagging feeling called the guilt factor that creeps in and robs us of the very thing we sorely need and deserve…self-care!
Leg health care to do’s may not even be on your self-care list yet. If you suffer from the effects of poor leg circulation such as heavy, tired, achy, painful, itchy or swollen legs, NOW is a good time to make some ‘me time’ to care for your legs.
Start with putting your body’s needs into perspective by reflecting on what your legs do for you and how often you simply rub that aching spot on your leg and soldier on.
Try to imagine what is going on inside your legs when this happens. Instead of the blood flowing normally through your legs, your blood is now in a traffic jam. It’s pooling in one area, unable to do its job, and making your legs feel uncomfortable. Your leg circulation needs your help!
Now that you’ve given yourself a moment to reflect on your body’s need, take 5 minutes to plan how you can start to give your legs the support they deserve.
Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many things to do at once. Start slowly, choose one or too actions and then add to your daily leg care list each week. There may be some items to add to your shopping list as well. Most importantly, be sure to add these ‘to do’s’ to your diary.
