Many people who suffer from this experience legs pain, even when they have not walked much or exercised intensely. The risk increases with age, being overweight, living a sedentary lifestyle and prolonged sitting or standing. In the case of varicose veins, the veins dilate with increased fluid retention. Both conditions, although more common in women, also occur in men and can be worsened by summer heat and lifestyle habits such as smoking, diet or fashion trends.

Hip bend

  1. Sit in a chair or on the floor.
  2. Grasp the shin of your right leg with both hands.
  3. Bend and pull your knee toward your chest and hold for 30 seconds.
  4. Relax your leg.
  5. Repeat until you’ve done 10 repetitions.
  6. Switch legs and repeat the exercise on your left leg.

Hamstring & calf stretch

  1. Resting on another chair or other flat surface, keeping your left leg parallel to the floor.
  2. Keeping your torso straight, lean forward from your hips until you feel a stretch in the back of your leg.
  3. Without bouncing, hold the stretch for 30 seconds.
  4. Go back to your original position.
  5. Repeat 10 times.
  6. Switch legs and repeat the exercise on your right leg.

Foot bend

  1. Sit and cross your legs so the side of your right lower leg rests on top of your left thigh.
  2. Hold your right foot with one hand on your heel and the other on the top of your foot.
  3. Relax your foot and ankle.
  4. Using your hands, move your foot clockwise 10 times.
  5. Continue holding your foot and move it counter clockwise 10 times.
  6. Bend your foot up and hold for 30 seconds then bend your foot down and hold for 30 seconds.
  7. Repeat until you’ve done 10 repetitions in each direction.
  8. Switch legs and repeat on your left foot.

Toe bend

  1. Sit with the side of your right lower leg resting on your left thigh.
  2. Using your hand, bend your toes up and hold for 30 seconds.
  3. Bend your toes down and hold for 30 seconds.
  4. Repeat until you’ve done 10 repetitions in each direction.
